“Yeah…” said Malfoy. “Luckily, they didn’t find much. Father’s got some very valuable Dark Arts stuff. But luckily, we’ve got our own secret chamber under the drawing-room floor -“
“Ho!” said Ron.
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Pg. 224 (American Hardback)
Been rereading the books with Juxtaposie - had one of those moments when I realized, holy hell, Malfoy is talking about the dungeon where Ron and Harry are kept and hear Hermione being tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange.
Meanwhile, at the Potters…
It was there on the last pages of the Auror report that had grown as thick as a book. The cabinet on the first floor of the Burrow, an inanimate object, was guilty of swallowing a fourteen-year-old boy.
Holy hell do I have a hard on for a decent dark fic. I don’t want too much into this one, because it’s one that is really best read sort of in the dark from the beginning, but it’s next gen, focusing on the disappearance of Louis Weasley from the Burrow one summer and his cousins investigating and just spirals and twists completely out from there. And once you get to the end, it’s worth a reread to put little details back into place (I can think of one line, in particular, that really stands out now that I’ve read to the end once.)
Lets be honest it also hits on some next gen ideas I particularly enjoy when I see them - namely Rose and Albus being Awesome!Detective!cousins.
